Tammy VanCleave, Principal

Welcome to Hidden Forest Elementary! It is truly an honor to serve as the principal of this incredible school community. Returning to Hidden Forest feels like coming home, and I am grateful for the opportunity to partner with our students, families, staff, and community.

I have been blessed to spend more than 30 years in public education, including over 18 years as an elementary administrator. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to one guiding belief: every decision should begin with what is best for students. My passion is creating a school where every child feels known, valued, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential. I believe that strong instruction, meaningful relationships, and a positive school culture are the foundation for student success.

My connection to North East ISD extends beyond my career as a teacher and administrator. I am also a proud NEISD parent, and all three of my children are graduates of North East ISD schools. That experience has given me a deep appreciation for the partnership between schools and families and the lasting impact educators have on the lives of children.

When I’m not at school, you’ll usually find me spending time with my husband, our three children, and our grandchildren enjoying Canyon Lake, traveling, decorating, or loving on our 4 doodles.

This year, our theme is Wonder, and I believe wonder is where learning begins. Together, we will inspire curiosity, celebrate growth, build meaningful relationships, and create opportunities for every student to thrive. I am excited for all that lies ahead and look forward to making this a wonderful year together. Go SOAR Falcons!

Mrs. Emily-Mae Fewell, Assistant Principal

Hello, my name is Emily-Mae Fewell, Assistant Principal at Hidden Forest Elementary! I am thrilled to be part of this incredible community. Born and raised in North Carolina, I have proudly called Texas my home for the past 12 years. Before embarking on my educational journey, I served as a paralegal in the United States Air Force for nearly six years.

I earned my bachelor's degree in education from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) in 2019, followed by a master's in educational leadership from UTSA in 2023. My career at Hidden Forest began over five years ago, where I initially served as a special education co-teacher and resource teacher. I then transitioned into the STEPS/redirection teaching position, which I found incredibly rewarding.

In May 2024, I completed the NEISD administrative internship program, which further prepared me for my current role as assistant principal. I am deeply committed to fostering a supportive and enriching environment for our students and staff.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wonderful husband, Jake, and our three amazing children: Lexie, Abby, and Peter. We also love spending time with our dogs and volunteering with the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo.

I am excited to continue serving the Hidden Forest community and look forward to an amazing year ahead!
